Health and Safety Representative

Health and Safety Representatives often act as the liaison between management and employees on matters pertaining to Health and Safety in and around the workplace and may be responsible for, amongst other things: assisting the Health and Safety Officer, attending Health and Safety Committee meetings, Review the effectiveness of health and safety measures in the workspace, identifying hazards and risks in the workplace as well as conveying worker concerns pertaining to Health and Safety to management.

The Health & Safety Representative course participants understand the objectives and statutory requirements pertaining to health and safety in the workplace. Attendees will be able to explain the rights, powers, functions and duties of the workplace health and safety representative and how any errant health, safety and environmental issues may be handled. They will also be able to participate in the safety, health and environmental structures and measure these activities according to health, safety and environmental requirements.
